Maybe you should reconsider waiting for a 2009 model...
Articles are beginning to appear referencing a coming price increase for BMW's. I think it is somewhat unusual to see news articles on future price increases, since everyone accepts that they increase incrementally at the release of each new model year.
Here are two articles: http://www.autoblog.com/2008/08/03/b...-through-2009/ http://business.timesonline.co.uk/to...cle4441576.ece I posted before that in looking at the German BMW website I could see that prices had increased in Germany by 1.16%. The market in Germany is different than in the U.S., and the articles I've posted above refer to the decline of leasing in the U.S., which BMW is VERY dependent on, and the unfavorable exchange rate as factors contributing to the coming price increases. I am guessing that due to the advance PR being released, and the changing automotive market here in in the U.S., we're going to see an increase significantly higher than normal, and there will be additional increases introduced throughout the coming year. I'm ordering an 09 model, for my own unique reasons, however if you are oggling a nice BMW sitting on a dealers lot, but waiting for the 2009's to come out, you just might find yourself very happy with the savings you would get by buying that car now. There's a lot of knowledge and insight into the automotive industry, and BMW in particular, on this forum, so I would appreciate hearing the views of others on this subject. |

If the increase is substantial enough I will reconfigure my 09 without leather. The cars currently on dealer lots are heavily optioned and have mostly auto gearboxes.

dealers don't have any 135i's on the lot here.. well, i haven't tried fort worth, but in dallas, they're empty.
Even though the prices may go up, BMW is offering lower interest rates to entice would be leasers to buy instead. BMW/Mercedes are both getting hit pretty hard on leases right now. |

i feel the 135i is priced a bit high when you start adding options to it... personally i feel it should come standard with the ipod/usb adapter, power seats, and heated seats... with the option of memory power seats, air con seats, auto, navi, leather, etc...

Occasionally a car maker will price the 1st year low and then increase it the following year once it's gained market share. Think they'll do it with the 1?
...Just a thought.. |

Nice screenname you have there. I saw Unknown Hinson (voice for Early Cuyler) in concert last Saturday night.
