From one lease to the next
Strangely my dealer doesn't seem to have a clear answer for this question, so I figured I'd try the collective wisdom of this forum...
I'm finishing up the lease on my 325 and have a 128 on order to replace it. My 325's lease is over in mid-September, and the new car is scheduled to arrive late August. Naturally I'd like to pick up my new vehicle as soon as its in, but I'm being led to believe that my current car is paid for until the end of its lease, and that if I pick up the new car before then, I'll essentially be paying for 2 cars in the meantime. So I'd be throwing money away unless I do the switch-over on the exact day that my current lease ends. Is this the norm? Ideally I'd like to pick up the new car as soon as its in, and then either get partially refunded for the couple of weeks of the old lease I didn't use, or get those weeks tacked onto my new lease. I'm curious what others' experiences are. -Tim |

most financial service companies wont refund the remainder of a lease like that. bmw might be a, exception but from what ive seen, is people pay for the whole lease and if they give up that car a few weeks before the end date..they are giving up that time

Cool! View this as an opportunity to be "That Guy (tm)" in the neighborhood who stands out in the driveway and plays eenie-meenie-minie-moe, each day for a month, choosing which BMW to take.
