2008 Coupe for 59 000$
i found a local m3 black on black, from a dealer with 750 kms for 59 000, i'm sure there is still wiggle room. Have you heard of a better price for a leftover m3?
This car i believe has only the 19' wheel option. I'm in such a predicament, i can afford an m3, not sure if i "want" to afford an m3? never spend this much money on a car before. What are the programs for an 08 leftover? did they change? i have 40 000$ that i'm willing to put down and finance the rest. |

this is a good deal and go for it make sure you get a really good finance rate like 2 or 3 percent. M3 is the real deal and you won't be disappointed. Plus it will still be a shit fast car 10 years later!

depends where u live, because if 19's is the only option that the car comes with and costs 59 grand thats a lot imho. i think if you look more and visit some dealerships i think your going to get more for your buck !!
good luck with your decision. |

For a low mileage demo that is a great deal assuming the finance rate is reasonable... where are you located? I wouldn't hesitate on it personally, even the colour isn't a huge deal... just get tight with a good detailer and it won't be an issue.

why not finance more of it - $40k is alot to put down. Whats the finance rate? You can probably just put down 10k or something, stick the rest in some fixed income investments, or pay down existing debt.

59000 + tx. this is without negotiating.
i don't want to have a high montly payment. that's why i'm willing to put 40 000$. can someone who'se better at math tell me whether it would be better to lease this car vs. dropping 40k vs. resale value. which would cost me more in the end, the lease or the depreciation |

that would be the one. another deal went through today and i will be able to buy the car whole without financing. just not sure if i should. Problem is, money comes in a month or two. so now i don't know if the car will still be there. i'm gonna present the numbers to our accountant, maybe he can make sense for me. as for me paying 1000 a month on a lease x 48 = 48 000++++$ gone that money vs. the depreciation, i have to make sense of it. do these cars depreciate more than 15% a year? if not, what's the usual curve? |

I think you should buy it if you are gonna keep it for 4-5 years. Lease it for 3 years and under. That has always been my rule anyways. I personally bought mine and not leased.

I can relate to your color dilemma. I'd advise you that if you like washing your car and drying it by hand ALOT then go for it. Unlike other colors such as silver or white where you can just wash it down for the day and drive away without worrying bout water marks. Black you can't just wash down and drive off...you'll see water marks everywhere if you don't dry it by hand. I've had a black SUV and black Merc in the past and will never get black again. It's the best color clean. But the worst to keep clean. Example, when I washed and hand dryed my SUV.....drive it around for the day. When I'm back home and its parked in the garage i already can see a film of dust on it. Sucks assss.

Canadian Black Book on a base 2008 M3 coupe with 1,000km is roughly $54k. If PDI/Freight and gas tax costs are also included in the $59k asking price, then that would appear very close to fair market value.
Keep in mind that cars depreciate by around 30% in the first year, so the dealer has already eaten this expense for you. I'm not sure what finance/lease programs are still available on the 2008 M3 coupes, but I'm guessing the rates won't be very attractive given that the dealer appears to be giving up its 9% margin and factory incentives in order to move the car. |

Jet black is beautiful when it's clean. All black car look awesome if you can keep them clean. For $59K it seem like a deal.

i think the car sold. i'll have to check, i'm not ready yet, maybe a month from now. I just want to be comfortable with the car. and since it's an m3, i might just buy it, give a nice cash down and finance for 5 years. i don't see myself tiring of this car.
anywho. i'm impatiently waiting. i also made the mistake of driving a 135i, so much fun for the money |
