Vancouverites...going to track day at Mission Thursday?

A friend is invited to a track day at Mission raceway this Thursday. He said it is a BMW car club of Canada event. He is actually running a 911 but he got an invite as his company is hosting a track event later this month and has invited some of the BMW people to his event. Hopefully the weather holds and it should be a good time. I am currently working that day but trying to get out of that so I could go check it out. I hope some 135 are out there ripping it up.

I have been looking to get into a track event as I have not been in one. Too bad it is on a weekday

Shoot...it's my gf's university convocation day!
Also have to go to an interview in the afternoon.
Can't make it~

how does these track events work? can anyone just go, do we or our car need specific certifications?

That one was for BMW club membersa and special guests. If you join the BMW club of america, then you will get an invite...check out the website and see if they have info. There are other clubs that do track days. I know a few of the autocross clubs (like Vancouver chinese motorsports club) does some track days. You pay your money, they check your car out (tech inspection) and you must get some training first. Usually They do laps with instructors first and they instructor must sign you off as being competent.
There are also some groups that just rent the track and go at it. Lots of fun and lots of learning
