My Evolution Racewerks FMIC mini review...
I'll keep this simple and to the point, I've had it on for about 36 hours now and done a few hard pulls. So far I'm pretty impressed compared to what I was getting with the stock FMIC. If you guys think this could be better let me know, keep in mind very very hot and humid weather.
The Install The installation instructions were pretty straight and to the point, but no pictures were provided. I'm no mechanic so took me some time to figure some things out. Overall took about 4 1/2 hours to install, with me and a buddy of mine helping on jack stands. All the necessary parts were included to install. Get ready to cut though, I had to cut the entire bottom piece of the radiator shroud and about 2 1/2 inches of each side in width and 3 in height. Performance Took some adaptation time for my car to get used to the new cooler temps , but feels really good, may do a dyno soon to see if and how much I gained and how much better power is maintained. The temps are in Engine Speed and IATs (Celcius) using the BT software. Runs were 3rd and 4th gear. Hope you find this useful and let me know any questions or comments Below are some logs running jB3 1.3 MAP7 stock log It was 83-86 degrees ambient temperature outside during this run Evolution Racewerks FMIC log It was 92-96 degrees ambient temperature outside during this run

nah, I opted out of the CF shroud, not worth the extra $$$ in my opinion, but so far the FMIC well worth it.

yea that group buy will be nice. Unfortunately my car as you noticed ran very HOT, and with this summer we're about to have of rain then 95+ degrees of heat I couldn't wait. But was really thinking about it.

ER is a bit of a legend in intercoolers for Audis, so I am not surprised that their product for BMW is up to the standard as well. If only Fred had released this earlier, I would have bought one. He is about 9 months too late for me!

Looks like it's really doing a good job keeping IATs under control. Thanks for the numbers.
All these great toys are coming out at a bad time for me. I want them all, but I'm in the process of buying a house. |

Got my ER FMIC the same time Yandy did and tried it out at Homestead Miami Speedway on Saturday. It was 95F and humid, but the intercooler really helped!
I've done Homestead before just stock, and you can easily tell the computer is cutting back on the boost as the car heats up through each session. With the new FMIC, the power was always there, even after 30 minutes, which is awesome! Thumbs up from me, and the numbers to back it up from Yandy, great intercooler! =)
