BMW Performance Kit with JB3

Hi I pulled this from the Australia BMW website today:

BMW Performance power kit

The BMW Performance power kit for the BMW 335i and BMW 135i further enhances your vehicle’s already impressive engine output. The key to its effectiveness is the way that all the components have been designed to work together. The modified engine tuning parameters mean the engine generates higher temperatures – and so an additional radiator and air intakes, and a powerful 850-watt fan have been incorporated to deal with this extra heat. The effect that these modifications have can be seen in the graph. The maximum torque of the in-line six-cylinder engine is increased from 400 to as much as 450 Newton-metres, depending on the type of transmission, and power output rises from 225 to 240 kW. This improves acceleration both from 0 to 100 km/h (by 0.2 seconds over models without the power kit) and from 80 to 120 km/h (by 0.5 seconds in fifth gear)

I contacted my dealership today and they confirmed that it will be released in the 3rd Quarter of 2009. No idea on pricing as yet but it has been mentioned to staff in their training.

What I would like to know is if it would be safe to stack this with a JB3? I would assume it's safer because BMW is upgrading the radiator, intakes etc to cope with extra heat which would mean a better setup. What maps would be safe to run on an otherwise stock car?

to get those kinds of power gains, BMW already appears to be adjusting boost and everything else JB seems to do. now i assume BMW 's tune will be far less aggressive, so if you just purchased the other items...radiator...intakes...fan...and simply relied on JB for your engine tuning i am guessing you would be making even more power than the BMW kit.

the huge advantage of the BMW Performance tune and complete kit is exactly that. B-M-W == warranty.

Wow this is great news . At least we know when it may be coming out now. Im going to ask my dealer when I pick up my car hopefully this week and see what he has to say about it. Even if it is less aggressive then say the JB3 the warranty portion of it makes it very interesting indeed
