First off, dump the Riss Racing Intake. It's crap, and is practically more restrictive than stock. Get a DCI from BMS or somewhere. But seriously, dump the RR intake. Dynos have showed it makes less power than other DCI, by a fair amount. Once you get the proper intake on (or even a stock one back on for that matter) you can run Map 6 or 7 with your set up on 93 Octane. With 100 Octane you will be able to run Map 8 (lower boost race map) or Map 9 (higher boost race map) Map 10 and above is for 100+ Octane and full bolt ons. So you know, many in 93 Octane states run map 6 or 7 with no other mods with no issues, no codes (hidden or otherwise). Many even run Map 6 and 7 in 91 Octane states, but power gets pulled. I've dynoed Map 6/7 on 91 Octane and no other mods, and everything is fine up to 5200 rpms, then the power dips and gets pretty bumpy. Sign of power/timing being pulled. Then I've dumped in a bit of 100 Octane to make a 93 Octane mix and that dip in power at 5200 goes away and the power stays. So worry not about running Map 6 or 7 with 93 Octane and your mods. Lastly, you can run the lower boost race map (Map 8) with 96+ Octane no issues with your mods. So if you decide to dump in a few gallons of 100 Octane in your 93 Octane and want to run Map 8 for that tankful, you're good to go. |
