Dinan2 and Dinan oil cooler.

Hi guys,
Gettting Dinan Stage 2 done on my 135i. Is it worth to install the oil cooler at the same time? Does anybody have anything good or bad to say about Dinan Oil Cooler?
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

I have the tune and the oil cooler. I did the install myself because I didn't want to pay for it (it's some crazy amount of hours). I definitely have been noticing lower temps, 10-20 degrees depending on the air flow to the cooler. It is much bigger than stock and requires some cutting. If you are handy at all and have some tools, I recommend doing it yourself, as it comes with instructions.
Hope this helps.

I have both. I haven't tracked my car yet, and I don't have a lot of regular chances for a lot of 'spirited' driving, but I have Never seen my oil temp above 250 - it might be on the line, but never over. Even this week (summer) I have noticed it at around 225 in normal driving. Stop & go, on the highway actually sends it up to 240 or so, but I see that as fine.

That's enough for me to highly recommend both.

Have Fun,
Rick

We have both and we race. So far we have not had the car go into 'dynamic rev limiting' mode since we got the Dinan oil cooler.

Note: we also use a good synthetic racing oil which helps. We use the Total Quartz Racing 10W-50.

Did you have that problem before the oil cooler?

We did have it come up at a couple of tracks in 2008 without the oil cooler - especially in warm weather.

Doesn't self install void the warranty? Dinan (and BMW) naturally push for $$$ their way and though self-installs were not covered under warranty.
