X-Drive 1 Series On the Way?!?

Someone on another forum was browsing the BMW website, and spotted what might be a slip.

It seems that they're getting ready for an AWD 1 Series, and by the looks of the layout, probably both a 128i and 135i variant.

How many people would go for an AWD 135i? I'd have to give it serious consideration in a year or so.

It's entirely possible that was just a glitch on the website, but it's got me thinking about how tasty a 135i X-Drive would be with a JB3 and a set of DPs on it.

A soft top convertible X-Drive car would be stupid. As for the X-Drive the reason why I switch from Audi to Bmw was because I wanted to go back to RWD. I'm not a fan of AWD Bimmers. I understand the logic to get one but I wouldn't.

No, it's on BMWUSA.com right now, if you let their ad that begins with the text "The government has called for increase fuel efficiency" play.

I'd be surprised if it weren't just an error. Someone copied and pasted the text from the 3-series into the 1-series area. That's all.

BMW webmaster is not aware of BMW cars, They were offering free auto on 335d and free awd on 335xi and 328xi.. GO figure.
BMW gotta get their act together with web site.. Or get their Webmaster a brochure and a nice BMW to drive.

Those ARE actual promotions from BMW, they are giving the upgraded cost of AWD free of charge. On 3 series car that have autos, they are giving that cost free as well. Since the diesel only comes in the auto, as not exclude those buyers, bmw extended the same promo discount to them

I'd say they've been hacked.

Mistake...but that said, with the X1 complete the setup might be available. A year ago I'd be all over it, but after seeing how great the 1 does in the snow, I'm not sure I'd give up RWD. They'd certainly have to allow sport suspension and 18s on the x-drive version. No idea why they eliminated sp suspension in the x-drive sport package.

I'll dream of a 135i x-drive 5-door hatch as the ideal year-round daily driver.

I don't need awd for bad weather here in the south. The extra drivetrain for awd would only add weight, reduce gas mileage and be less fun than rwd. I have a hell of a time getting the rear end of my S4 to kick out.

Not going to happen.

Maybe Gen2, but I still doubt it very much, other than the x1!
