Use the zip ties they give you to tie up those flapper valve controller thing from the stock exhaust and leave it out of the way, then put the berk one on.

Quick question, since you probably still have your stock exhaust, could you take a picture of the inside of the central resonator?
Not the muffler but the mid-pipe resonator. I just want to know if its a simple Y pipe glasspack or if it has baffles. Thanks |

yeah, thats normal. You're burning off some of the coating inside the exhaust. Can't really explain it, but its normal.
Give it one hour and it'll be gone, but it'll smell weird for a while longer. |

its a used exhaust so i thought it would be done... i hope i hooked it up correctly... where the two sections bolt i should feel a kind of gap right? feels like rubber seals between them.

There should be a gap, but they should not move. It should form an air-tight seal or you'll have an exhaust leak which sounds terrible. I don't think there is any rubber seal, at most maybe a steel ring but my understanding is the exhaust flange makes its own seal.
Smoke on a used exhaust? Did you spray anything inside the pipes? WD-40, release-all? |

Actually i think the smokings stopped; maybe it was just residue.
Interestingly its rattling, i have a vert and i can see where the exhaust rests on a cross bar... anyone have a solution for this? maybe a sticky rubber pad or something that wont melt. Im not sure about the volume, wow its loud, little toooo loud inside the car with the roof down... might not stay on long. |

Yea someone else put the exhaust on a vert and had trouble as well since the underneath has a different layout. They also said it was really loud... which surprised me since I actually think it's too quiet.

Thank you! id gone to advanced auto parts and just picked up a generic mount, seems to have done the trick. I took photos of the connection, i think i have a big old gap between the two parts, like the bolt hole slipped and is stopping the bolt tightening any further... back under the car in the morning again.

yeah i went back under and tried to push a piece of card between the joints and it wouldnt go; guess its just an optical illusion... pity was hoping it would be the cause of the loudness. ill take some video on my iphone but the mic probably wont do it justice. atleast the rattle is fixed now.
