Front bumper

My wifes 128 was originally in a state that required a front plate. Now, we dont need one in FL. What is your opinion on putting a German license plate on the front versus paying for a repair of the front bumper?

IMHO, unless the German plate was used on the car in an official capacity (for example Euro Delivery), I wouldn't do it. That's just me. I doubt anyone would know. Filling the holes and repainting might affect your resale potential. You may want to consider paint-matched caps as another option; it may offer a cleaner look than the German plate and be much less involved/costly than a repair.

I took mine off and put the screws that originally held down the license plate holder straight into the bumper. Good place to put the screws and you can barely see it on BSM.

I think I've seen some company that will offer you personalized German-style plates. That might be pretty good since it would likely be a whole lot cheaper than official vanity plates and you could put anything you want on them since they aren't real plates.

Those screws will eventually rust and leave a stain on your paint.

Sounds like a good time to upgrade to either the Aero bumper or the 135i bumper to me.

Thanks for all the advice.......I had never heard of bumper plugs.

Just having a small repair will hurt the resale value, like having a scratch repaired?
