Strange question regarding the lumbar support???
I have an aquantance that is currently driving a 2009 128 coupe. Anyway she does not have the power seats option & is having back problems due to the fact there is no lumbar support. Any suggestions? Anything that a BMW parts dept. would carry as an accessory for extra support for the seating? Thanx.

You can buy lumbar support cushions in various shapes, sizes and colours at many auto accessory stores, on line, or on eBay. You would have to get one suited to the driver in question.

That is what I was thinking. Figured I would just ask around on here if anyone had a better idea of if there was something available from BMW.

I remember an old DIY on one of the E46 forums where someone took the back cover off the seat and after removing a few other pieces, was able to roll up a towel and stuff it in the lumbar area. Sounds ghetto, but probably worked just fine.

I've looked through the aprts catalog and can't figure out if you can buy the lumbar support pieces and add them to a non power seat. I'd expect that someone may try it eventually, but for now I'd go with a seperate pillow.

actually are basically correct, the seat cover can be removed & additional padding could be added. There are a lot reputable shops that could do so

Just an aside - lumbar does not come with power seats in the 1er - it comes with the Premium package. |

Is there a procedure for taking the seat cover off on the 128. I am not experienced in doing this, is this something I should have a shop do or is it simple?
