If the 1-series didn't exist, what would you be driving instead?

just curious, for those that own and drive a 1er, if BMW didn't exist, what car would you be driving instead?

Intending on making a move to a Caddilac CTS or Hyundai Genesis (sedan) in the next 12 months.

I would still have my '04 STi but it would have a turbo upgrade.

2004 BMW M3  [8.00]
In order of likelihood:
#1. E92 BMW 335i (front bumber, brakes, weight, and size were factors that made me choose a 135i instead along with price)
#2. E92 BMW M3 (w/DCT though it wasn't out yet when I ordered my 135i)
#3. 987 Porsche Cayman S (bang for your buck just wasn't there and if you've ever gone to Porsche USA and try to configure a car there you'll easily run over $10K in options alone. My dream Cayman S retailed at $110K, yeah right).

I think people overlooked that you said 'if BMW didn't exist' so I will exclude any other BMW models.

Audi TTS or RS4, Camaro SS, or used Porsche Cayman S.

Saw one of these this morning. GREAT looking car from the rear and sides, but the front was indiscernable from an IS sedan. Looks like a comfortable, drop-top cruiser rather than anything performance oriented though.
