rubber floor mats
I got the rubber floor mats that are specific to the 1 series.
However, they are pretty poor quality for a BMW product. I had a set in the 325i and they were better. They look like like the rubber all season mats that are in the current 3 series coupes. Will the 3 series rubber all season mats fit in our 1 series? The 1 specific rubber mats are thin and the bad part is that the side walls are very shallow and don't hold anything off the carpet. We've had a few days of rain and there is a ton of leaves and dirt/dust all around the edges of the rubber mats. I got these instead of the carpet version for that reason, but I'm not too happy with these. If the 3 series mats won't fit, maybe I'll go with weathertech all season mats, they look quite well made. Thanks. |

I have the 1 rubber mats for winter and they are pliable and thick. They cover better than the carpet mats do.
If yours aren't very good, the Weathertech products are great. I have the Weathertech for my Tahoe (work truck) and it is very durable and covers extremely well.

I agree the 1 series rubber mats feel cheap, mine keep moving around as well. I ran my E46 ///M3 mats last winter since I still had them from my last car. The fit pretty good and are better quality. I actually just bought a new set yeasterday, again for an E46. I like having a clean car, including rubber mats...

The BMW rubber mats should have come with Velcro anchors to keep them in place. Although they are not real deep, they do help keep the carpets clean. I think they look and function great.

Not to thread jack, but I think the carpet mats are incredibly cheap. I don't remember them being this cheap on my E46. They just look and feel so flimsy. I look forward to them wearing out so I can get something better quality from Bavarian Autosport.

Have they changed the mats? I have had my 135I for about a month and the rubber mats I have are pretty hefty and held down with velcro, they don't move at all. The edge is not very high though so that may be a problem once winter gets here.

I have had mine for about a year now and the heel pad under the accelerator is almost worn through already.
I wish more companies would step up and start making floor mats for our 1ers. Weathertech is the only one that I know of that does and I do not like the design. It does not seem to incorporate a way to anchor them from the pictures I see on their website. |

signing up to this, I will need some for the winter.
I have carpet and the rubber ones look quite lightweight with not much protection around the edge to stop water getting on to the surrounding carpet from the pics I have seen. |

I just sent a product request for this Weathertech floor liner:
http://www.autoanything.com/floor-mats/64A2002A0A0.aspx It seems to be the only one worth having in or car but is not listed. They do make it for the 3 Series for current models so I am hoping they will start a production for us. |

I love my rubber mats!
Heavy duty and grounded. Wouldn't trade'em for the world. (Ok maybe the world) |

Do they have a raised lip\channel around the edge of the mat? From the pic I saw online it looked like there was nothing to stop rain\slush from getting off the mat onto the carpet. |

My BMW dealer threw in carpeted floor mats as a final negotiating point, but they weren't in stock when I took delivery, and they gave me a set of the rubber mats instead. The rubber mats aren't very impressive. When the carpeted mats came in, I was surprised how much skimpier they were than the ones that came with my E46 (as previous poster noted). They are MUCH lighter weight, and not nearly as thick. I got over 90,000 miles out of the E46 carpeted floor mats... that ain't gonna happen with the 1 mats. I was impressed that my dealer let me keep both the rubber, and the carpeted mats. Nice touch!

there are 2 different sets of mats out...the old are usually not available as they have switched to a new design. the old ones are thicker and deeper, and then there are the ones that the OP are complaining about. i transferred my Z4 mats over, and had to get new rear rubber mats. the rubbers in the rear are the new design, and thankfully the fronts are the old design as they came out of my '06. the new ones look nicer, but are slightly less functional.

Yeah. I had Husky liners in my STi before I bought a set of the WeatherTech FloorLiner DigitalFit. The DigitalFits were a lot better quality.

Great, I haven't been able to find any pics of any in a 3 series or anything so wasn't sure how good the fit is. The bmw rubber mats look too shallow, interested to see how these wrap around the gas pedal.
