Top speed in gears?

Sorry for the simplistic question, but 1 hour of searches is coming up empty. Anyone know where I can find the top speed in each gear (manual transmission) for the 128 and the 135??

When Road and Track magazine tests car they publish that. I saw it for the 135i in a past issue....for the 2008 model. Do a web search see if it comes up.

Keep searching, I posted graphs about a year ago showing exactly what you want but I didn't find them either

R&T 135i Datasheet

Here's the datasheet from R&T's review of the 135i in May 2008. It includes the top speed in each gear.

Punch the drive ratios from the chart into this calculator and you get 194mph max speed, ignoring drag.
300 wheel horse power is plenty enough to get a 1er within sniffing distance of 170mph once you factor drag.

Looks like R&T has the ratios right, but they count redline at 7000 flat and don't tell you what you can do without the governor.

My scribbles say 42, 72, 109, 144, 172, and 197(!). Theoretical, of course. I seem to recall some posts on these boards where someone did the math to adjust for drag.

top speed estimates

Thanks Everyone!
Using two methods: #1 the link posted by Citizen Z above , and #2 some research yielding the formula:
MPH = (rpm x tire diameter)/(gear ratio x 336).

I backed into the below numbers. Tire diameter I used is 24.5 inches.
Results are closer than I expected to the 135 posted by Road and Track

128i
3.23 final drive

gear ratio overall mph (Calc) rpm
1 4.32 13.95 36.6 7000
2 2.46 7.95 64.2 7000
3 1.66 5.36 95.2 7000
4 1.23 3.97 128.5 7000
5 1.00 3.23 158.0 7000

Rounded at the 7,000 redline and using a tire diameter of 24.88", I came up with:

1st = 37 mph
2nd= 66
3rd = 97
4th =131
5th =161
6th =190

(5th & 6th are theoretical, of course)

Yes, using 3.68 as the ratio gives 47 MPH
Better hang on that could be exciting
