Announcement: JB+ Software Update? - More Power!!

I've been working with BMS on finding ways to squeeze more power out of the JB+. I don't think we can get to JB3 levels, but I know there is more in there. And for those that run and enjoy this tune you just can't beat the price or quick install.

As a requirement for this you would need to have 93+ octane, and access to a BT tool as it would increase the chances for hidden codes. You might also need to do the free solenoid bypass. Would anyone be interested in having BMS tune stronger JB+ maps? To load we would ship you a replacement chip that goes inside the JB+. Cost would be around $10.00 - 30.00 depending on how much tuning is involved.

Let me know if there is interest in this and we can get the project started!

This would be very desireable for those that dont wish to play with the ECU etc. More power always welcome!

But less parameters are being controlled than with the JB3, making it a bit more risky, no?

Definitely interested but would need more details and risks.

High power always has additional risks, but if we take 91 octane compatibility off the table and make the BT a requirement, I think there is a lot more we can do with the JB+ tuning. Even without raising peak boost we could reduce IAT and high altitude decay, for example.

Right now I am just looking for interest in more aggressive JB+ tuning. You guys may tell me you'd all update to the JB3 anyway which is a better platform for making power, and we won't bother trying to squeeze more out of the JB+.

I'll update to JB3 at some point, but why not make the most of what I currently have... an updated JB+ sounds great to me.

Speaking up enhancement...could an extension cord be made so the "black box" could sit up higher in the bay making it easier to popopen and adjust for those with the stock air box..

Taking that thing off can be a pain...

I think as long as you don't mess with the original JB+ there would be interest. I don't want to have to worry about throwing codes, which is why the JB+ appeals to me. Granted I'll still get a BT scan tool anyways, but I don't want anything too aggressive. Afterall, this is my daily driver, the STi gets all the big power upgrades.

This has nothing to do with the JB+ base software, that will not change. This would just a hop-up chip available for those that are interested in it.

In a word, no. You need the JB3 for that.

I'd be interested if I wasn't stuck buying 91 octane.

I'm a new 135i owner and new to the board.

The JB+ is of great interest to me since I am under warranty and its may daily commuter car. While more power is nice, I'd like to have the ability to adjust the jb+ from the cockpit. Even a simple on/off capability would be appealing.

Minimally, increase the cables like SSTT so it accessible in the engine bay.

Since you all run the JB+ - did i read correctly that you do not throw codes at the mid point setting but above mid point you do ?

If anyone upgrades to JB3 - drop me a pm.

JB+ is a very simple design and will never be adjustable from the cockpit without changing that design or going waaaaay up in price.

+1 on the JB+ with a longer cable for easier access in the engine bay. I bought the BMS DCI specifically to access the JB+ or else I would have just gotten a better drop in filter.

+1. I'm in CA where 91 is the best we can easily get.
