Not as far as i can figure out, i don't think the car doesn't supply it (135i). The BV should be able to read it fine though, but the car needs to supply it.

Yes it does read boost, but they are the stock values. So if you have a JB3 the BV tool will only display the "stock" boost values and not the modified ones.

Exactly, the JB3 tricks the car into thinking that it is at stock boost so that is what is reported to the BT scanner...

Good to know, i thought my plx wifi i just got was broken somehow, but it seems it just took a little while before i got any readings. What would be boost pressure at max on an unmodified 135i that i should be reading ?

does this mean that I won't get an accurate boost read if I get a boost gauge? I have the JB+

No, you WILL get an accurate reading with a boost gauge because it will be hooked up to a vacum/pressure source under the hood. Boost gauges are electro-mechanical. The BV reads thru the OBDII port and that is fed by the DME I believe. So the signal coming to the BV is a computed generated signal (somewhat) and the signal coming to the aftermarket gauge will be straight from the turbo pressure. Hope that helps.

Sweet, thanks, that definitely helps. I've been wanting a boost gauge for awhile and now I don't have any impediments except waiting for it to come on.

I use the JB tuning gauge for the JB3 and am really happy with the Boost and AIT gauge. I want to get three other gauges in the ashtray, oil pressure, water temp and EGT

My PLX OBD shows my boost pressure runs from -78 to a max of 18,7Kpa, is there something i am missing or do i need to do something other than convert to psi/bar ?

As long as you have factory software and no tune, your readings should be correct.

I don't have any mods at all, but 18.7kpa is only 2.7 psi or 0.18 bar, which seems very low to me ?

Most of the basic OBDII scanners read from the MAP sensor, which only reads up to around 3psi. The BT reads from the TMAP sensor which is the correct sensor, but you need to subtract ambient pressure, and it will only reflect the stock boost levels with a piggyback.

IS there away to make the rev app read from the tmap? Instead of just map? I figure that's a question for the makers of rev

Just upgrade your JB3 to a JB4 and you can control your stock instrument clusters to show boost. Not to mention, it also reads/deletes codes.

Anyone who bought a JB3 from an authorized BMS dealer (like us) can get a free upgrade to a JB4 if it was purchased after 9/25. If was purchased before 9/25, the JB4 upgrade kit is available for $85.

i'm running dinan stg2.....

I'd love to be able to read boost via the torque app on android. The standard obd map reading stops at about 2.7psi. Does anyone know what the custom BMW pids for the tmap sensors are?
