Door repair question

Hey guys, finally got my M. It was used and had a long scratch on the door but I got it at such a discount that I couldn't pass up on the deal. I will post pics as soon later today. The scratch is long and catches my nail so through the paint. I believe I'll need the door repainted. Car is AW. Any ideas about how much it will cost to fix and make it look perfect?
Thanks

Another quick question. How important is it
to have it done at a BMW certified shop? I know of a decent shop but they aren't certified...

I would stick with a BMW paint shop because they will use the correct Oem Glasurit paint and it will also keep the paint warranty intact.

I know you have white, but take a look at my post here.

I don't think this standard of paint is the same at all Main dealer paint shops, but it is at mine.

What part of the U.S. are you located? I might know of a good shop in your area.

I'm in NJ, in the Edison area. I know of one (Ultimate Collision) supposed to be pretty good.

2 body shops i saw said they want to blend the door with the fenders. I am a little concerned about that, is that the best practice (I know it's a common one)?

the right kind of paint makes all the difference. choose a shop that knows what they are doing.
