USB in armrest stopped working.

For some reason, the light on my flash drive went out and now the system says no device connected. I notice when I plug the drive in its light for a split second then the light goes out and doesn't come back. Did the USB port die?

Try rebooting the idrive....
Hold down the 2 eject buttons and the volume button at the same time for a few seconds till you see the idrive resetting.
Oh and dont be scared if you hear a "pop" sound... its just the amplifiers rebooting.

I only have one eject button. It actually seems to be working now. I reformatted the flash drive and reloaded everything and it started working again. I'm not sure what caused it to stop working.

Flash drives can die over time... They only have a limited read/write cycle.

That should be way more than 1 year. In fact, they shoud last longer than the car. There is no limitation on reads but there is on writes. Because you only write to the drive when you load new files, the drive should last a very long time. Especially since this drive is only used for the car. I only take the drive out of the car about once a month so in theory, the drive should outlive me
