grease!

hey guys...

did a few searches and didnt find much so, here is my situation... I just got my new m3 and because I ordered it through military sales it didnt have a proper detailing when I recieved it. There seems to be some small spots of adhesive on the car and there is a gooey substance that leaked out of a whole on the bottom of the trunk lid. It appears to be some sort of shipping grease or something but it has hardened on the paint now... I tried to take pictures but couldnt get them to come out well... that being said, what would be the best way to get these off? any help would be greatly appreciated....

Is it yellow in color? If so it might be the shipping wax / substance...I just used some IPA (alcohol) mixed with water to remove mine (50/50)...then washed it off with more water...Also don't use a lot of force. One last item, IPA will remove any oil / glaze on the paint so you might want to apply some sort of glaze / polish and wax to get it shape...Just my 2 cents, might be off base...

It's not a shipping wax, it's for corrosion resistance and it's supposed to be there. Yes, it'll run out on really hot days but it won't hurt anything. Just don't do like some boneheads and remove all of it.
