It was more like $1500 and change, installed, at BMW Toronto. I wrote to Maranello and didn't receive a reply.

so can only improve from there with chip, downpipes and mods. good to know.

still stock diameter correct?

sorry for all the questions, I just want the quietest/most stock sounding setup i can possibly have while gaining a mountain of power.

If that is the objective then do not go with the BMW performance exhaust,it is by no means quiet! It does sound amazing though!
I had the same objective after many cars with performance exhaust's,so this time I just went stock exhaust with the DINAN STG 2 software along with an improvised SSK(just the leaver from a 130d).
Just my input! Good luck with your decision!
Cheers Mike

thanks for the info. I had a very loud subaru, was pulled over every other day just because the cops didn't like a kid in a modded car, so i want subtlety now. a little volume is acceptable, but a lot is what i'm trying to avoid.

oh, and what's the SSK?

SSK stands for Short Shift Kit.

It's only loud when you want it to be loud. The increased HP is not noticeable..

It was the lever along with some other part.I cannot recall what it was called the dealer did it for me.I can say for sure there is a significant reduction in the throw, and the leaver sits much further back closer to the armrest than it did before, however it is a little stiff still!!

Typically with a SSK you're changing the fulcrum point, moving it up which in turn makes the shift action shorter. If it's sitting further back, I wonder if the bend of the arm was changed as well. What parts did the dealer use, was it the BMW Performance kit or was it off of another model (your post seems to indicate another model vehicle, but there is no 130d like it alludes to)?

The PE exhaust in Germany is 670 euros with out the 19% MwSt tax. The dealer wants one hours labor to do the install. 110 euros per hour. I am still thinking about it.

Pretty sure you have to cut and clamp, it's not a bolt on affair.

SSK Part #'s

Here are the modified SSK part #'s

Stopper-25-11-7-571-899 1.99
E 36 Support-25-11-1-220-600 18.71
Shift leaver-25-11-0-434-219 95.50
Total 116.20
labour 190.50
grand total 306.70

I saved over 50% of the cost of the genuine SSK and feel this set-up
work's fantastic.

Interesting, looks like HPA sells something similar, pretty much the BMWP SSK without any of the trim. It also appears to be for the E9x which is probably why it sits a little further back.
