Talking Initial Impressions of my 2011 ZCP E90 M3 + more pics

After 5 long years, I have finally picked up my alpine white 2011 M3 and you can bet your bottom dollar I'm a happy man So, as a die hard bmw fan boy, these are my comments on the car so far (i have logged only 350 miles).

Fit and Finish: The interior is pristine, the only flaws are that there were white nylon like stuff and some excess glue coming out of the rims of the sunroof liner. No big deal. The warning sign on the visor is a major eyesore - that definitely has to go no matter what or how it is going to be done. My front bumper was cut out poorly with massive gaps between the headlight and bumper. Thankfully i was changing the front bumper anyways. The rear bumper looks like its poorly calibrated, with the right pushing out of body form a little more than it should - its noticeable. But keep in mind im super anal about my cars and over examine everything.

Interior: The extended leather blew me away. Im extremely glad i didnt bother with most poeople's opinion here saying its a waste of money. Shit, its the best option on the car! I feel like im wrapped in a cocoon of leather! every surface is covered in leather, absolutely no plastic visible! this is the way it should be and I highly recommend it. The only functional problem is that i sit with the seat all the way to the floor and far back - i just wish that the steering wheel could extend an extra inch more. I could not be happier with the quality of the leather, it is top notch. Beats the shit out of the Dakota leather in my 320i. Im just afraid that this will wear poorly, im always wearing jeans by default and the buttons and stuff make some serious impressions.... I might start wearing linen pants only like an old man lolllll the things i will do for my leather! The air conditioner seems less efficient than in my 320i, so im assuming the hot weather country setting is not enabled. The iDrive is flawless in my opinion, just for the record. I do wish i could see my torque distribution like on the X5M, thats always fun for the passengers to watch. I find the premium sound to be excellent in terms of how crisp the sound is, but its a fact that a new sub has to be put in because the bass is lacking.

Mechanical Precision: Well words cant quite pin down what this car feels like, but most of you reading this know how it feels already so i need not dwell on the epicness of this car's engine and performance. Very happy that i got the DCT, this thing is a wonder. That coupled with the competition is a winning combination, another thing i highly recommend. These two option compliment eachother like no other. My car cant stabilize its revs, but its not broken in right now and im assuming thats normal. I have never been so impressed by any computer system as much as the drivelogic system - this is excellent and deserves alot of credit. I find the system extremely useful, i love driving on the lowest setting so wen i push it up its like a big surprise every time its great for switching for urban and highway driving. I cant thank BMW enough for all the R&D they put into this monster. Or more specifically, I give thanks and praise to the boys over at the M division. Always setting the benchmark as usual

General comments: The X5M may be able to deliver power instantly, but the engine is so smooth and refined that you dont feel the true raw nature of the engine. The M3 oozes of testosterone, the growl and rumble is breathtaking. This car is everything i ever wanted and more. Not having a P gear is a bit weird but im almost used to it. I just keep leaving my hand brake up lol. Enjoy the pics. Mods and updated pictures coming at the end of september

edit: ohh, and this car certainly is a dick magnet. every time i pull up for gas dudes swarm my vehicle. Its not so bad lol. what surprises me is that my die hard audi friends didnt talk shit at all, they were very much impressed and did not speak out of timing. Unusual, considering these are the most ignorant audi lovers i have ever met. never have a good thing to say about a bmw so thats surprising lol

this was a super win. Because of a dealer screw up on paper work, i walked out of there with free tire insurance, dent and ding insurance, and a full showroom car care kit.

I Love Pace BMW Always great service, and always hooking me up with free shit.

Yes, an excellent choice you will not regret. Just make sure to maintain it and never use armor all stuff.

Glad you like it! Loving mine as well. Regarding P gear, yes you have it, its just automatically engaged. Watch the gear display as you shut the car off. If its in N it will flash P as you shut the car off. If its in gear, not sure if it flashes P or not, but Park does automatically engage.

yeah i know. Im just used to hitting park in my 320i and not using the hand brake. Hence i always forget about it and drive off with my e-brake up for a few seconds until i realize. Ill get the hang of it shortly

You can always wrap the center console in carbon leather, thats always sexy, especially if you already have CF interior trim.

welcome to M3post

I thought the extended only gives you the lower dash and lower part of center tunnel in leather. When you say no plastic, do you mean the upper dash and the whole door panels are all leather too? Please confirm. If that is the case, I will change my order and get that too.

Thanks.

basically, once your in your seat, any and every movement you make, sliding your hands as far back or as far forward, there is leather wrapping the surface.

let me explain why there is no leather on top of the dash. The sun will basically rape it because its going to be exposed to alot of sunlight, and will wear dramatically over time versus the leather thats on your seat. whats great is that everywhere that your hands or any body part will ever touch is plastered in leather. I highly suggest you take this option, its hard to regret it afterwords. It is my favorite option, and i was iffy about getting it. I was originally planning to wrap the center console in CF leather to offset it, but im much happier with the extended novillo leather. Do it, you'll be happy with it.

They are so perfect, what really does nice is the 10mm drop on the car, the stance is just wow.

the only other white ZCP car on this forum that i have seen was the headline with the twin deivery E90's, one was black and the other was white. I set that pic of his car at the race track as my background as inspiration untill i could put a pic of my car there
