Service Due. Or is it?
It has been about 603 miles. I noticed today that when I turn on the engine there is a picture of a car and says service... And on the Idrive on the top left corner it says service due.. However, when I go into the Idrive system and go to settings and Service section. It says something along the lines of " service is due soon please make an appointment with your service representative.. It also says this
Service Due 7/2012 In: 600 mls I have to leave early tomorrow and I don't have time to get the car serviced.. Will driving around 400 miles over service if i really need it depreciate the car value? I Know certain Auto makers Italian in particular drastically emphasize the car being service in their pricing. Regards |

i am a little confused, service is due in 600 miles. you have to put on 400 miles. the difference is 200 miles. if i am reading this correctly then when you are done with your trip then you will still have to drive another 200 miles before the 1200 mile service is due.

Let me rephrase..
When I turn on the car the screen on the dash says service with a car next to it.. On idrive on top left corner it says Service due then dissappears. When I go into system settings it says service is due in 600 miles. I'm confused because im getting mixed messages.. So if my service is really due now will 400+ miles over service depreciate the car value? |

I'm actually going to go a few hundred miles over 1200 miles. I couldn't get an early enough appointment at my dealer. In hindsight, I should have scheduled it when I picked up the car, since I know my dealer runs about 2 - 3 weeks out for service scheduling.
I'm not worried about it at all. It will make no difference in diff, trans or engine wear compared to the majority of cars out there that go a couple of months or more before their first service. |
