I just asked about it on the mod forum and someone gave me a good alternative. For $300 you can replace the bulbs for LED. And they look awesome-like stock. Go check them out.

It doesn't and it's not likely ever since it should have happened with the LCI for MY2011 in March when the tail lamps were updated. It would be very out of the ordinary for this to happen with only 1 or 2 model years left at this point. As I recall the new headlamps would require a bumper modification and since the M3's bumper is model specific the cost probably makes it a bad business choice. Wasn't there something similar with the E46 M3 and its LCI?

Yeah, only the taillights of the E46 M3 were updated during the LCI -- same deal with our E92s. I don't see how it would make any sense to update the headlights on the E92 M3 after the LCI has already happened. As for the aftermarket solutions, some of them look pretty good, but none look as bright and defined as the OEMs because of the updated design of the LCI coronas.

No LEd's for us, just taillights, I fought with my dealer for those headlights, but to no avail.
Southlight has a thread on the future of the e9x, have a look, apparently 2011 is the last model year

thread can be found here http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=443909

Absolutely nothing is going to change on the last year ('11 might be the last, and little changed) of production; you can take that to the bank .

BMS and City Vision are 2 other LED AE products you can look into if you are not into opening the housing for LS3 or OSS AE's, nor HID kits...

I read alex@alpine is working on a kit brighter than LED but not as bright as HID...he mentioned it in the cosmetic seciton (in the thread regarding AE yellowing)

Considering the car came out in 08, isn't that a bit short of a run? I thought the M3 had a 6 year life... which should keep it in production until the replacement in '14?

I agree, not to beat a dead horse...but thats a very valid point!

at least there should be a 2012 or even 2013 model to complete 6 year life cycle

Nothing will change, no LED lights, nothing. LCI for the M3 was 2011.

There will not be a 2013 model. Maybe not even a 2012 MY M3.

Thats bullshit!

I mean you're telling me that they will stop production after roughly 4 MY's

Why would they do such a thing after the e92 has annihilated its competition and is still the benchmark in its class (and has been compared with exotics and statements such as "...with that sound it should wear the prancing horses logo..." ) why would BMW do this

Ok but just doesn't seem logical
