Are you 6MT or DCT? Nice to finally see some times out with this kit - I guess I overestimated how fast an ESS M3 is, im pretty dissappointed that these times don't even match up with a stock Z06...good job though your car looks insane man

He's just about on par with a stock Z06, that 7.86 that Scott (Divexxtreme) ran was his best ever, as you know conditions play a big role on NA cars, he will tell you that mid to low 8's are about what they normally run.

60-130 runs on vbox can vary a lot, depending on soo many different variables.

Great job, keep it up and trying for better times.

I always figured they were high 7s, I forgot the last time I tried a 60-130 in the z06...I was hoping that supercharging my m3 would make it able to hang with my z06 (cams, heads, headers back exhaus, intake, tune, etc... Over 600whp and tq) but after comparing dynosheets it's obvious the z06 has alot more meat under the curve. Couple that with it's lightweight, better gearing, etc.. The m3 stands no chance I guess. My mistake for having too high of expectations....sorry for the threadjack back on topic - regarless those are good numbers man.

Z06 is a much better platform for 60-130 runs than a E9X M3. It is common to see one outperform higher HP cars in this type of test. As you can see below in the right conditions it can run even with a Lambo LP640 which has 640 HP. That being said Mikewads has run 7.5-7.7 with his 7 psi "DCT" ESS kit on pump fuel which puts him in some pretty good company. For a manual car on pump fuel M33's first attempt at 60-130 times are pretty good.

Here is a list for comparison on some stock and modified high 7 sec 60-130 cars.

7.74 - GT-R / 640 HP (downpipes, y-pipe, BC, hard IC pipes, custom tune)
7.85 - Stock LP640 / 2-shifts
7.86 - Stock C6 Z06 / 2-shifts

I think dyno sheets can give people a false sense of reality and in turn one may be disappointed on how one's car performs against others, the Z06 is a heartbreaker, that car will humble you up pretty quick, and your thoughts are correct. My buddies Stock C6 Z06, was only a tad slower than his 600whp C5 Z06 with a supercharger, maybe a car or two!

As you personally know the Z just flat out performs off the lot and with just a few bolt ons, with a Cam it's game over, I will say the driver means a lot in a Z, a bad one and they don't appear as fast. A C6 Z06 with just a few bolt ons would probably be about even with my car and not too far behind Mike's car on nitrous, with a cam it would be gone against either of us.

Here's how one bolt on Z with a Cam compares, based on 1/4 mile traps I've seen I think they are faster, probably a low 6.

6.53 - E92 M3 DCT with ESS SC and nitrous / 3 shifts
7.06 - C6 Z06 intake, tune, headers, cam, no cats, 560 rwhp, 2-shifts
7.06 - Gintani SC'd E92 M3 DCT / 3-shifts
7.12 -2010 GT-R, Switzer cat-back exhaust, drop-in air filters and Switzer 100 octane tune

Yeah I'll agree - you have to be a very good driver to bang through the gears in the Z06 (their pretty notchy its a little tougher than other cars), and also have the balls to stay WOT while spinning at 80mph. I have to admit I'm a very good driver, but the Z06 still puts me in my place when I get a little too confident lol.

Drew how do you think you'd do against a stock ZR1 (just trying to get a feel because I've beaten one pretty bad with the Z)..

I would take it by a few cars is my guess, the ZR1 gets a pulley/tune and it's bye bye!

I don't doubt your results at all, I remember seeing a vid, a ZR1 against a bolt on/cam Z, and it was a massacre.

Based on what I saw, my buddies stock Z was faster than a modded LP640 (rated at 670HP) that we used to run around with in Mexico. I do think the E92 M3 DCT is a great platform for 60-130 though. I agree M33's run is a good time for a 6MT at 6 psi, and his shifts look good too. I believe Robert's first attempt with his stroker at 6psi, was around 8.3 as well, then he eventually managed a 7.58 on his last attempts.

Everyone made some good points !
Here's mine
1) I did 3 to 4 pulls all were with in the 8sec
2) practice makes perfect
3) I promise you I will crack 7's
4) for what it's worth it was 45 deg out and every-time I shifted in 4th I got wheel spin ... I think 55 deg is ideal
5) 6mt ....... Not to shabby when comparing to a DCT , that puts it at 7.4 7.5 on Dct shifts advantage .
