problem after software update
Hi, not sure if it's just me.
Yesterday, i found out BMW Assist (SOS) is not working...it said i'm not subscribe to it. Call BMW Assist and everything looks okay to them. Told me to go back to dealership to fix the issue. I have done the software update about one month ago and i didn't try using any BMW assist function till yesterday...oh well... |

I had that before and I had to go back to dealer to have them re-initiate BMW Assist, which took hours

Just want to vent a little...
They reloaded the software which didn't help...told me that they have to start a technical bulletin with BMW. So I took the car home and let them sort it out...got a call two days later to ask me to try the SOS button... it works...just told me they did something back at the head office. Now a month later...again I found out the BMW assist is still not fully operational...still can't send google map designation to the car and i noticed an activate BMW assist option is being highlit...why i don't know...thought everything was fixed. When i went into the BMW assist option, it tell me...my BMW assist contract has expired. Call BMW assist...they said they can't do anything...the system is only for receiving info...not resetting...told me to go back to dealership. I am tempted to just leave it like that till i have to go back in April to change back to summer tires. But then again...not sure if the car tracking option will still work and i am paying for that option right now. Oh well...back to dealership next week. |

I am having problems too. The google map function doesn't work. I pressed the SOS button, they tried something, didn't work. Then told me to go to my dealer.
All I use the stupid BMW assist for is google maps.

I actually fixed the problem by accident.
Everytime i've tried to activate BMW Assist...it said data transmit unsuccessful. When i was in Scarborough area...decided to try activation again. And data was finally transmitted successful...hand shake was done with head office and BMW Assist showed active status now...all the services are available...stolen vehicle, unlock door etc... I guess Markham area has weak cell tower signaling. |

I didn't have much problem with google map (myinfo)...the odd time that it didn't work...just call BMW Assist and they can see it sitting in queue and all they do is manually push it through.
