Agency Power Cat Delete and Section 2 Midpipes

Hey M3post, im thinking about pulling the trigger on these...

http://www.jlevistreetwerks.com/p591...duct_info.html

I know my neighbors wont be amused but i dont give a shit. I have a E90 M3 with Remus race mufflers and OEM connecting pipes...

1. Will they fit to my setup with no modifications?

2. As for the CEL, any cheap/easy solutions to prevent it from showing?

Any videos of these bad boys? Im dying to hear what they sound like!!

Thanks,

Joe

Should bolt on just fine.
Cheapest solution is Akrapovic CEL Delete-R.
No, most people go with something else.

You're welcome.

These will be direct bolt-on.
You can get rid of the tune with either an Akrapovic Delet-R or a tune.

AFAIK, no one's installed these yet. These are probably the loudest midpipes out by far, not only because they are catless and unresonated, but also because they lack an x-pipe. The crossover in the x-pipe does quiet things down a bit. A straight setup like that will sound really raw and i've been waiting until someone pulls the trigger with these to see what it sounds like, esp. with remus race. Should be VERY VERY loud.

Aside from the Akra Delete-R...isn't there another cheap fix to the CEL?

That guy has a meisterschaft gt2 muffler, the loudest muffler for the m3 other than kreissieg, and appears to be catless. This setup might be close, but no one knows because no ones run straight midpipes before. Remus race mufflers are loud, but no where near as loud as meisterschaft gt2. It will still be damn loud though.

People have messed around with lambda adapters but that always still ended up in eventually getting a CEL as far as I know. Only other solutions are the Akrapovic Delet-r and a tune.

uyy, would it really be that bad? I mean sure the cold start would be pretty nasty, but just backing out of driveway and low rpm shifts...and im gone. i think?

I've been searching around, and have been told by 2 vendors, and around 5-6 members that this setup would fit without the need for cutting/welding. However, a different vendor now says it requires cutting/welding. Can someone chime in to help? Really want to pull the trigger on these!

It doesn't have any cats or resonators, so yeah it will be really loud.

Keep in mind without the resonators you better get a cat back that is well matched or this thing will be raspy as hell. Also, the Agency Power from the look of it doesn't have an xpipe for exhaust scavenging. There may be a power dip in the lower rpms due to this.

I dont mind if its going to be a bit raspy. I mean its going to be a straight piped V8 for heaven sakes, so the smile on my face will cancel out the raspiness.

What would the power dip feel like? would throttle response be affected?

It will be very raspy, but sounds good imo. My friend has remus race with an x-pipe with 200cell high flow cats and no resonators. Sounds amazing. Remus race is good because its quieter when you want it to be, but really opens up at WOT.
These are a direct bolt on. They will bolt on to the stock headers where the cats used to be, and then bolt to the connecting pipes which connect to the muffler. You may have gotten confused by connecting pipes which have to be welded on to the muffler, but i think you can also bolt them on.
You will lose a little low end torque due to the loss of the x-pipe, but you'll gain a little horsepower on the top end due to the straight pipes. The straight pipes will make it raspier.
Not sure if this link will work, but here's a vid of my friends m3 with remus race with high flow cats:

I would avoid it if it has no resonators. I had an x-pipe with no resonators and it just created too much cabin vibration. I say staying catless will add a better tone while going no resonators doesn't really make a better tone.

If you just want straight pipes, I would do custom striaght pipes, it will take no more than $500 (not sure, but I did custom straight pipe for my other cars and took less than $1000 for sure..)

And if you do straight pipe, I think there is going to be a loud drone..

Drone made me to take it off within an hour..

What muffler di you pair of with these midpipes? Be sure to post a video. I've been curious of what these midpipes sound like for a long time.
