GT1 and DIS software for our vehicles

I've been browsing around and apparently there are people selling this software on DVDs for less than 20 dollars. Furthermore apparently you need the USB to OBD connector and something else to do with an extra pin in the OBD connector? Also you need xp operational system only to run it on.

GT1 DIS software does all types of amazing things and I have a spare computer that I'd like to try it on as well as a vehicle that I want to try it on. Does anyone know any further information on this procedure?

OH no, no discourage. I wanted a straight forward answer. Appreciate it and I will look into it more, but how does one even start to do this? I have a computer with XP on it and old one...I can buy the cable- USB to OBD...and the software. Whats the next step..

You should have asked earlier before I sold mine on eBay. Honestly it was a piece of shit lol. I have an '09 and the only reason I bought it for is to activate the transmission oil cooler motor pump. I couldn't find it but after selling and browsing through the DIS, I finally found it. For me it was hard to understand all the acronyms and all that stuff so I just sold it and boughT a BT.

I wish I could explain a lot to you but I only had couple of days to mess with it before I left for Afghanistan. I reset the oil reminder with it but you could do it on the dash without it too. I even had the turn signals to freeze, I don't know what I was pressing.... Anyway, I don't know much about this thing... I ordered mine from **********s and I got a 5% for Mflight.

I remember seeing a whole thread on E46fanatics on this, but it seems to be lost now... (or buried somewhere atleast). If I can dig it up, I'll link you. It was pretty complicated if I remember correctly... hardest part is finding the cable. Some kinda edibas cable? 100USD ish on ebay. Thats all I can remember

Well apparently you need that cable or you can fab ur own with some type of extra pin in the cable assembly..

The only reason why I can make this work is if I get right down to the dirty and start now then I have jan/feb/march before track season.
