Everyone just wants a cut and dry answer to this question. Reposting isn't going to get you that. All the signs are leading to there NOT being a MY 2012 M3. And you can 100% forget it if you want an E90

Also, if you really already have a 2011 E90 M3, why are you concerned?

The reason you don't see a definitive answer anywhere is that no one knows yet.
Technic reports that his dealer claims an October 2011 production E90 M3 is possible. That doesn't mean that it will be a MY2012 (in fact he says it will be an MY2011). However, to me it all but certain that 3 series rolling off the line past September of this year will be MY2012, so it would follow logically that M3 made during that timeframe are 2012 also. The only reason I can think that they might keep the M3 as a MY2011 is that perhaps they only plan to build them for a couple more months past September and do not want to confuse by labeling them MY2012 when in fact none of them will ever be produced in calendar year 2012. But at that point, its all just semantics right? If you want an E90 M3 with the latest possible E90 platform revisions, it will be one that is built after the September changeover. I doubt there will be much different from a 2011.75, but there may be some very minor changes. At the same time, you never know when they might choose to decontent some little things, or eliminate option packages either (so as to save some $$$ in the final months of production), so it might be a little bit of a crap shoot. That about the best answer you'll get right now. Beware that in theory production could end at any time so don't wait too long. I guess you could order a new one every month and just keep refusing delivery until the last possible chance. But no seriously please don't do that because that would be extremely douchey. Cheers. |
