Consumer Reports
Hi guys. Any thoughts on the new Consumer Reports which gives BMW (particularly the SUVs) a very low grade? I just bought a new X5 and find this a bit unsettling.

They also would not recommend iPhone4, yet it is an awesome phone. The X5 is an awesome car, you know it!

Thank you CR...The Japanese build more reliable cars than the Germans huh?
Damn! I never knew that.... Hey, I loved my previously owned Subies, Hondas and my wifeys Lexus is pretty nice too..They all serve a purpose... But I would be soooooo bored driving any of them on a daily basis.. |

I would not base any decision on a CR report - they spent a decade recommending Toyota's that where killing people and only base their decision making on reported customer reliability, not about driving experience etc, of course the BMW will break more, it is much more complicated - if you could drive a rock, they would probably recommend it over anything as it would never break, but would probably not be the best choice for your car!
If all things where equal then there recommendations may make sense, like buying a microwave oven, but all things are not equal when they compare a Lexus to a BMW!
