Irvine Spectrum Parking structure UNSAFE!!!!!

Hey guys,

Thought i would share this. I parked at Irvine spectrum structure thats by the 5 freeway(in the middle of Edward theater and D&B) in the sublot(below level 1) and my freaking trunk spoiler got jacked.

I was there tonight from 7pm-9pm or so. I hope the F'ers that took it go to HELL and stay there for all eternity.

So, becareful when you go to Irvine Spectrum guys!

Megan's never going there again or if she is, she's getting valeted in the front.

This isn't classified as a violent crime thus it won't be in that statistic

OP: report it to security and have them check the cameras. it should be easy to find them

I can tell you that security @ the Irvine Spectrum treats this kind of stuff very seriously, and they involve the police (there is actually an Irvine PD substation on site). They have cameras all over the place, and they will help you go to the police who will actually follow through on license plates, finger prints, etc. Its a shame you did not call them immediately. They would have rolled a CSI van and pulled prints...I'm not kidding. They actually pulled prints when someone stole a pair of Oakelys out of my sisters car 10 years ago by forcing down the window (she left a crack)...

5-6 years ago myself & a buddy saw some undesirables bust a window in a riced out accord out in front of Edwards (this is in the pre-parking structure days). They had just finished ripping off the battery cables to silence the alarm and were starting on the sub in the trunk when my buddy ran up & confronted them...They bolted in an old Sentra pealing out the whole way drawing even more attention to themselves (they did get the head unit out in 20 seconds flat). Someone else wrote their license plate down. Security came and did a report...and we got a call a few hours later from Irvine PD asking us if we were willing to come & identify the perps out of a line-up if necessary...apparently there was no need in the end. The police went to Santa Ana & arrested the owner of the Sentra based on security camera video who promptly turned in his buddies.

...so yah, while Irvine PD are a bunch of nazi aholes regarding traffic enforcement (not uncommon to get a 39 in a 35 ticket in Irvine from a motorcycle cop), they also go to extremes in persecuting property crime.

Even with the 11-99 foundation frame and they still jacked it. Incredible. I'm sure you parked strategically from a door ding perspective. Just too secluded or far away from a surveillance perspective.

yep. custom paint. its an oem part but i painted it that way. Pretty sure its one off and one of one.

hrmm i did go bak and file a report. they told me that they could call the cops for me but they said that they would say it was private property and they couldnt do anything.

Their cams supposedly didnt catch anything suspicious near where i was parked. I backed in, so i could understand why.

yea i did park semi secluded but that way was the way you could get out of the structure. SHADY! sigh
