One of the last 2011 e92 M3 ordered, the wait begins.

Hello guys, I wanted to make a post and introduce myself as a future M3 owner. I been lurking on this forum and have learned a lot. I just swapped my 2009 335i Dinan Stage 2 and was luckily able to place order on the very last production slot for 2011. Now being with out a car for 6-8 weeks and anticipating the arrival of this beauty begins. Order was placed July 14th. The dealership assigned to is BMW of Bloomfield in Jersey but was arranged by a friend at a leasing company and was also able to apply the BMW Drive for Team USA $1,000 voucher toward the car. She is currently in status 112- Scheduled for production. I call the 800# daily.
Specs are>
2011 E92 m3
Jerez Black
Fox Red/Black/Black
4MX Gray Brushed Aluminum Trim
ZCP Competition Package
ZCV Convenience Package
ZP2 Premium Package 2
2MK DCT w/ Drivelogic
752 Enahanced Premium Sound

Browsing the forums helps me deal with the wait, figured it was time for an introduction. I can't wait for her to arrive.

Agreed. There is nothing like building to spec, especially on a car like like this which is a "special" purchase for many of us, myself included.

Why didn't you wait for '12? By the time you get your '11, the 2012's will be in production or almost in production and when you take delivery, your car will already be a model year old.

I did not want to wait for the 2012, the pricing is not even out yet and I got a good deal. On top of that the earliest a 2012 can be had is around November delivery i think. Plus there will be no changes to the 2012 model year, however the 2012 will be the last year for the m3.

Well, if you're leasing it's no big deal. And if you're buying it, as long as you don't plan to get rid of it in three years, you'll be ok. Congrats and enjoy.

Thanks. Much more current than the web site. I really hate voice systems though...

Looks like my car finished production on Friday. Should be shipping soon...

My car finished production on Friday as well! My CA says it is showing as "left the factory" with the next update "at port of exit" expected within a day or two.

Incidentally, the next E/B ship "Elektra" is due to depart on July 20, and the one after that is July 31st. Hope I make the former!

The MY2012 residuals and MFs haven't been published yet. I'd reason that a July 2011 purchase of a MY11 car will yield a lower residual than a November 2011 purchase of a MY12 car.

I hope that you actually attended the event and remembered to check out. BMW NA is being very strick on who may and who may not receive the voucher because it's all their money this time.

Yes, absolutely, but if he's happy with the deal he negotiated he doesn't have to worry about depreciation of a '11 vs. a '12. All he has to do in three years is turn it in.
