That would be cool if F30 M3 is actually produced alongside the F32.
Jason: Any word on whether they will be calling the next gen M3 the M4? I really hope not...

I thought BMW said they're not making a 4 door sedan version of the new generation M3? Every article, post and blog I've read has stated the same. My question is; Why would they test one, on the ring if they didn't intend to produce it???? Makes Zero sense and makes me happy if, in fact , they'll be producing a 4 door sedan model.
Edit; Just read the article on the explanation of the 4 door test platform Last edited by mike33176; 08-11-2011 at 12:21 PM.. |

Yikes, three turbos off that motor platform?
Now you can count on replacing the HPFP and the Alternator!

From what I can tell in the pictures, there looks to be some fender flare, which I like. I hope BMW brings back e46 M3 style fender flare. Also, guess they're not killing the sedan after all...
I remember reading the same rumors about calling the sedan a 3 series and the coupe a 4 series when the e9x was being developed. I highly doubt BMW would stray away from the legendary M3 badge, particularly for the coupe. |

I like what I am seeing/reading so far.
That being said my next BMW will likely be the F10 M5.

The "sedan" will probably be a coupe profile type 4 door.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

It'll undoubtedly look like scaled version of the new 5 series (which in turn is a scaled version of new 7 series).

So the tri-turbo rumor is becoming more real. At least it sounds to be based on an inline 6. Nice to see pics but still too heavily disguised mule to form an opinion on styling. One thing is for sure, I do not want to own one for the first year of the triple turbo, sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

BMW employee SCOTT27 posted it was Inline-6. That info got removed earlier today when the threads about this topic were moved/merged.
