I wouldn't do it without a system that is "aware" of the added load. Wet shot + something to reduce ignition advance, or dry shot with secondary fuel injection, and timing control, etc.
Whether you run NOS or another 10psi with a big turbo, you are increasing cylinder pressure and that requires changes to ignition timing and making sure your air:fuel ratio is appropriate to avoid melting a piston and avoiding detonation. So step 1 is figuring out what sort of fueling and timing controls are available, and if those will properly compensate for the greatly increase load of your NOS shot.

i just have to ask...
WHY? wtf isn't 300 hp enough for anyone? suspension and brake mods are more advantageous because they'd allow you to take advantage of the power you can now 'start' to put down. it's like putting a huge jet engine on a little go kart....imo. no offense. |

People might say the same about the 135's 300 horsepower. Why isn't a Honda Civic enough for you? |

300hp isn't enough for me, I don't think 400whp or whatever I'm at is enough for me! More is always way more fun! LOL I am looking at Water meth right now actually! LOL

You want to add power... and the first thing you think of is nitrous?
And not of the multitude of chips, flashes, exhaust pipes, and other bolt-ons which can easily net you 400, if not 450 horsepower to the wheels? JB4 or Procede or Cobb (stage 2) - 500-1000ish USD Any set of catless downpipes - 300-800 USD Intake - 100-400 USD For under $1000 you have a safe, reliable, always-accessible way to make close to 400 RWHP. if you want to go over 400, then you'll probably need to replace the rest of the exhaust, upgrade the intercooler, get some meth, etc.. But even that stuff is more reasonable than nitrous! http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=605895

Ok seriously have you ever heard of a little something called supporting mods?
You cant just slap a tank of go fast juice on a stock car and call it fast. Thats how you blow engines, even the N54 which is a pretty stout motor. |

Not ricey at all. It's just another tool to make more power. When people choose to limit power adders then they also choose to limit power made. If 270whp is enough for you then enough said. But I know for a fact that it's not what I and others are looking for. But that being said, I'm not so naive to think that my engine will never need a rebuild, but this isn't anywhere near my first build either. I do believe others think that doing crazy sh*t to these cars won't be detrimental in the long run. Those are the ones that should start saving money now. Going the extreme route without prior subject knowledge can be quite expensive lol!!!
