Help with agency power intercooler install
I was wondering if anyone who installed one had to remove the factory couplers that held the stock intercooler? Or did you guys have to weld the extra metal piece that came in with the kit?

I have this FMIC and it was completley bolt on except for some cutting, with the couplers they provided. Are you talking about the metal pipe that connects to the charge pipe? If so one of the silicone elbows in the kit connects the FMIC to this pipe and you use the stock elbow from the charge pipe to connect to this. I hope this helps.

Im pretty sure you have to take a dremel or something like that to buzz those factory clamps/bands off of the piping. Once you get that off, the couplers provided should go right on.

Yes you have to remove the stock coupling on the pasenger side. I can't remember if it has metal rings on them, but mine came off with no problems. Try spraying it a bit with PB blaster of WD40 to lube it a bit and I believe you have some clamps to loosen. It's been about 2 1/2 years for me so I'm a little groggy on the install.

On most aftermarket FMIC the factory clamp at the turbos has to be removed. This can be done by prying carefuly with a screwdriver or the tool of choise a dremel. Be careful not to damage the piping.During installation use the supplied coupler and clamps which usually come with the kit.

Ya I finally figured it out, I wasn't thinking straight lol. The only time I saw welding required was on one of the big Tom FMIC. This install was a pain in the ass though.

I think that is a code that relates to a boost leak. You might want to check to make sure all of your hose clamps are seated correctly, and that your piping is inserted all the way into the couplers. This may clear up the problem.
