Decent deal for PPK2?

I can get the PPK2 for about $1200, and as I foolishly missed out the on the better deal for the PPK1, this seems to be a better "value".

And any idea on labor to installl this whole thing? Figure it's a few hours at least to install the radiator, software etc so trying to figure it this is worth it over the PPK1 around $800. After much consideration, am not going to go with aftermarket tunes so that leaves these options for now.

thanks,

mg

I think its about 5 hours labor to install the Stg II parts.
I think there are several parts that will still need to be purchased that arent included, cooling ducts and what not. Not 100% sure though.

Yikes, that'll be a nice install bill. The $1200 includes the cooling ducts so that's all in for the part.s

Seems to me it comes down to if you need the extra cooling capacity. If you are going to track the car or its really hot where you live then it sounds like a pretty good deal to me. If you don't need the extra cooling capacity, then you are paying an extra $800 to $1000 by the time its installed for something you dont really need. As I understand it the software is the same between PPK I and PPK II

it does get well over 100 here in the summer, and though I'm not sure I'll track the 135i, I certainly have done plenty of laps in my other cars and might get the bug again. hmmmmm

Would you mind sharing where you found the PPK1 for $800? Since the price increase, I cant find them for under $1000 or so.

ppk1 is around $800 at stevens creek bmw uninstalled. I'm sure other shops have similar deals but that was the lowest I found on quick search (that's where I bought my car)

after installing the PPk on my N55 - I think I would look very hard at the Dinan tunes before I spent in the range of what the PPKII will end up costing when installed. The PPK is an improvment - not a transformation. I think for about the same money - the Dinan may be the way to go.
