Newbie question to decide performance tire
Hi there, This is BJ1m from Beijing China. I have got my 1M since Feb. In China, we has 200 from quota. If you want one you need pay extra 10K to dealer. I got my AW by good relationship from BMW China. The car before tax is about 598,000 RMB which is about 95K USD. After tax on the road the car need 100K USD.
Once i got my car immediate notice that the torque is too large to handle aggressive driving. I plan to switch a set of tire for more grips. The current choices i have are: 1. Bridgestone RE11 19/R35/255 Front and RE11 19/R35/285 rear 2. PSS 19/R35/255 front and 19/R35/275 rear Re11 is local manufactured which is about 400USD cheaper than PSS. (1,746USD and 2,150USD for PSS set) The needs are: 1. increase grip when aggressive driving. More tracking for safety (daily traffic and seldom track) 2. Beijing is a dry place. Very few raining days and snow as well. 3. Long last from wear . Everything regarding car is expensive here 4. Don't care of tire noise because may switch to AK muffler Which one I should go? Is 285 R35 on rear will hit the fender? Many thanks, BJ1M

You'll be fine with either set of tires, and all those sizes will fit fine.
Michelin Pilot Super Sport and the Bridgestone RE-11 are probably the best high-performance street tires currently available. Neil |
