Tilt-mirror on reverse

Hey somebody please help me. Can someone please tell me if the Z4's have the tilting mirror on reverse feature? I could swear that I had it when I bought the car but it doesn't seem to work now. I do know about the mirror adjustment switch and it can be used to turn the feature off. Thanks in advance.

I think it's something the BMW sedans do...the side mirrors tilt down in reverse so you can see the curb and they're supposed to go back to the original setting when you take it out of reverse...if I remember correctly

Yep, this is exactly what I'm referring to. So do you have this feature on your car?

On sedans, the mirror adjust button has to be set to the driver's mirror for the feature to work - you could check that. I know this feature wasn't available on the pre-facelift cars, but I thought it was added in '06.

The passenger side mirror tilts down when in reverse if the mirror adjust switch is towards the drivers mirror. This feature works on my '03 330i ZHP. It is not included on my '07 Z4MC.

It sounds like a good idea, but I just tried it to see, on my '07 3.0i, and it doesn't tilt down with the mirror adjustor switch toward the passenger side when I put it in reverse.

My 07 328i has it, but not my o6 Z4M. Personally? I don't like it.

Mine has it. All Z4's have the i-mirror (intelligent mirror). When I put the car into reverse I think "self, do I need to see the curb?" and if the answer is yes, I then flip the i-mirror switch to the down position.

I also have the three-flash lane signal option. It works awesome! I hold the switch until it flashes three times.

I would like to have the mirrors electronically flip up instead of manually doing it..I know there is a kit to do this on the e46's but I haven't seen this available for the Z4's..

There's a fine line between 'gadgetry' and 'technology'. Like the a-column "BLIS' lights that Volvo has... whatever happened to looking over your shoulder?
