sprung a leak

I went to the touchless car wash today and a considerable amount of water somehow got through and got me wet.. it was only on the drivers side but i'm sure the top was completely down and locked. i've only had my car for about a week, so there shouldn't really be any problems yet, right? this happen to anyone else?

You went through a touchless car wash with the top down and wonder why you got wet?

ive notice when hish pressure jets of water hit the seal of the window going from back of car to front it can push the rubber seal back and water gets through and it has happened on every bmw coupe i have ever had >.<

heres a little diagram.. i kno i kno im a paint shop genuis what can i say lmao ...

right anyways just before any1 asks me what the hell thats suppose to be lol

Red line rubber seal Bue lines water.

incase its not that tho i would put some towels down in ur car and get someone to gentle run some water over the roof with a hose and you sit inside see if u see anything.

down and locked as in closed correctly. if i had really went through with the top down, don't you think just a little more than the driver's side would have gotten wet?

LOL..... nice grfx

- When resorting to the wash booth, I try to be careful with the spray wand.
& avoid spraying towards the window seams/joints

Don't take soft top convertibles through touchless car washes. In fact, don't take any car you love through touchless car washes. Hand wash is the only way to go. (or self carwash bay if you're in a hurry)

i wasn't complaining. i just wanted to know why i spent $40,000 on a car if i'm going to get wet everytime i get it washed.

you said you would only hand wash your car but i don't exactly have a driveway so that doesn't leave me with many options..

I don't have a driveway either. I live in a condo with underground parking. Try Optimum No Rinse Wash or Protect All Quick and Easy Wash.

All you need is two buckets of water, a couple of washing mits, and microfibre drying cloths. No hose necessary.

Wow, you are in school and spent 40K on a car. Boy times change, my first car cost 3,800 when I was in school and took 3 years to pay off. Good luck with your studies and I hope you get get this leak thing solved.
