extended maintenance warranty and cost?

Anyone purchased one? Ive decided to keep the M and i think that would be the best choice possible.

Just got done with my 30k mile service today. Interior start button trim had to be replaced and inside driver door handle trim since both paints were peeling? Forgot to mention to them about my USB on the armrest that had a broken tab, SA said bring it in next time they'll have to replace the whole center console.

There are dozens of threads discussing this. I suggest you do a search as you will find the bulk of these discussions very helpful. Good luck.

I have one on mine. From what I gather most if not all won't cover interior things it's mostly mechanical breakdown.

I've read good things about Mercury but they're expensive.

I went to Schomp. Car had 52k on the clock. Ran me $4,100 for a extended warranty that ran through 2015 or 75k miles.

By all means, do a search.

Here are some basic tips that might help before you read the related threads.

1. There are Extended Warranties and there are Extended Maintenance packages. Make sure you know which you want. You stated Extended Warranty and that is the one I went with.

2. Extended Warranties are sold by BMWNA (called Extended Vehicle Protection) through BMW dealers and by many third parties through BMW dealers and other sources. In my shopping, only BMWNA packages guarantee OEM BMW parts installed at a BMW repair facility.

3. Many posters seem to confuse BMWNA EVP packages with third party EW packages sold through BMW dealers. I can see why this happens since BMW dealers - including mine - may offer you a third party package FIRST before offering a BMWNA package (I bet they get a bigger markup). Ask if you are at all confused.

4. A myriad of combinations of mileage (beyond the factory warranty), years (beyond the factory warranty) and parts covered are available. Choose what is best for your situation. Here is a link to what BMWNA offers:
http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...rotection.aspx

5. By all means get competing quotes. Once I settled on which BMWNA package I wanted, I got quotes from 3 dealers (any dealer can sell a BMWNA EVP and it will be good at any BMW dealer) and they varied widely. The best by far came from Steve Thomas BMW - a forum sponsor. And the deal was handled by email, fax (for the key read) and phone.

But read the threads that pop up when you do a search. They will be very helpful before you spend $$$.

Good luck!

I've already searched and i also already have a extended warranty 7yr 100k. i was asking for extended maintenance. I was wondering how much people were paying for the extended maintenance since a brake disc change or even a clutch replacement would cost about the same. Thanks anyways.

I just looked at an old paper, Upgraded BMW Maint for 6 years/100,000 was offered at $3200. Covers belts, brakes, and hoses. Major Maintenance.

Brake disc changes are not $3200 worth
