E93 M3: 50,000 miles in 33 months.

So I hit 50,000 miles a few days ago on my 2011 model year (June 2010 original purchase date) E93 M3.

Cutting to the chase: if you are a convertible owner, no need to worry. The car runs as well as it did on day one and still puts a smile on my face every morning. No major issues so far.

This is my daily driver, including winter, and I plan on driving it to around 100,000 miles, when my extended warranty expires and just in time for the new model!

Check the strings that are part of the top system, they should be black. My 08 showed white and were replaced under warranty.

I am almost on the same boat as you. Mine is a 2012 convertible and already has 27K miles in less than a year (bought it new in may 2012). My plan is the same as your but not sure if I will get another M3 - we'll see when the new one comes out. I love my car but really want a 911 Turbo convertible. Again, we'll see what happens 2 years from now.

Awesome! You're an inspiration.

Euro Deliv on mine in Jan 2012; PCD March 2012. ~25k miles on it now. Have cycled the top at least 800 times, probably more. Four track days. Two long, vacation round-trips. Daily driver. Substitute pickup-truck.

Have burned out and replaced the brake pads and discs; replaced windshield wipers, fried the oxygen sensor twice, and had a tiny issue with a seal on the back convertible top. Other than that, it's been perfect *.

I have a big smile on my face everytime I drive, especially now it's getting warmer outside. My warranty is coming up in May and I am debating whether to get extended warranty. Should I get it inspected by the dealer to catch any existing problems?

I would but first, what is your plan with the car? Keep it to at least 100k or get rid of it? Your plan will dictate what to do next

Nice, everyone should drive their cars whenever possible!

What's the point of having the Ultimate DRIVING Machine if you don't drive it?

You said "no major issues".. Anything come up at all that you don't classify under major? I'm beginning to ponder keeping this car out of warranty.

I had decided for extended warranty and was debating extended maintenance plan. I had the car inspected by dealer who essentially told me it did not make financial sense for me to buy the plan, so I skipped it.

- Some loose bolts in the roof led to metal-on-metal noise around 10K miles, fixed under warranty

- Cracked rear wheel, replaced under tire and wheel warranty

- Faulty iPhone connector (USB in central arm rest), apparently related to iDrive control unit, entire unit and connector replaced under warranty at 49,965 miles!

The maintemance plan is definitely not worth it. Did you get the BMW extended warranty or a third party one?

I'm a little behind you as I just hit 10K and mine is a 2011. I'm lucky enough to have a Tahoe to drive places I really don't want to take the M. My Tahoe is a 2012 and just turned 11K. Wow, you really drive a lot!
