0x27C3 DMTL leakage detection

I got the following error today: 0x27C3 DMTL leakage detection

Any help? Do you think will be an easy fix or I should visit the BMW Service Center to get the +1K quote?

I have the EasyCare Warranty with the $500 deductible.....What you guys think?

Thank You,
Jose

here's some info on non-M3 E9X cars, looks like a PITA to do, it's located on/near the fuel tank

should be the same process, but not sure whether you need to reset any computers in the process after the swap.

It can also just be a gas cap left loose at one point. Before you jump into parts replacement I'd secure gas cap and clear the fault and see if it comes back. Before you condemn the dmtl you have to make sure there is no leak in the evap system, this is done by using a smoke machine.

bmrman1,

I already did the gas cap and clear the code...I even replaced and still came up...How can I do the "no leak in evap system", where i need to put the smoke machine?

A smoke test can be done from the front at the engine compartment left hand side. Not everyone has access to a smoke tester so you could just replace your dmtl or diagnose if there really is a leak.

Help

So I have 3 codes P2401 P1429 P2419 I replaced my gas cap, canister and also DMTL. I also checked for wires and they're all good. I still have the 3 codes after running the car with my erased check engine. At this point In thinking of doing a smoke test but was wondering if anyone had any ideas? BMW E90 330i 06

Had this pump replaced recently, had the codes cleared once and drove it and the code came back so we went ahead and replaced the pump. The entire job takes less than 30 minutes.. it's located right behind the drivers rear tire, couple screws to get the heat shield to move out of the way, about 3-4 hoses (don't remember) and a few screwed to losen the entire canister to replace the little pump.

Pretty straight forward...
