Prime race/track build thread
I wanted to share what I have been up to the last months/year and thought it would be interesting for most of you. I do have a 2011 e92 M3 street car/grocery getter/kid hauler. (It has two Recaro kids seats ) But the really impressive car is the e46 M3 race/track car. Originally the thought was to just build a track car for HPDE......and to promote our business. (I own a roofing business in Portland) Once we got into the build it became apparent that it was going to be a fast car and we might want to race it. We will see. I say we because I had a lot of help from Eddie at A R auto service / Adrenalin Racing (he is a half owner) I can tell you that we have tried to do everything the right way the first time around using the best parts available. The car is drivable but not finished by any means.....keep that in mind as you wonder why this and why that.
A R Auto Service / Adrenaline Racing (Eddie Nakato 503-697-3311) is the builder of the car. Here is the list of venders/parts we have used: Motion Control Suspension (MCS) triple adjustable Diffs on Line triple clutch/ramping Diff Bimmerworld Turner Motor Sports VAC Tilton AP Racing CF roof, trunk, Delage intake, splitter, canards, head lights, brake ducts, wing (hood, fenders, doors may come later) Full strip and cage 22 gallon fuel cell Pulleys OEM Euro header too many bushes and/or mounts to mention (39) How does it drive compared to the e92 M3? Like a feather. It is about 2750 lbs. dry…..everything is done with ease. The cornering power is just way beyond what I have every experienced! Plus you can feel everything. The car tells you everything you need to know and actually easier to drive…….up until the limit. Then it becomes tricky (I am told). Here are the pictures: |

Love seeing these types of builds - congrats OP!
We just dynoed a CCA M3 S54 w/ Delage intake here a short while ago tuned by Epic, haven't seen one of those intakes in ages.

This is awesome.. are you doing EWS deletion too? That way you can ditch the stock traction control/cluster, etc.. and go full race

I will have to resize some pictures before I can put more up. Sorry.
A couple of interesting things: stripped before the cage the car was less than 2500 lbs. the wiring harness was stripped one wire at a time all the way back to the ECU. |

Glad to see and hear it in the flesh Greg. There are few cars that make you look up and force you to pit wall to understand where the scream is coming from. There are also very few drivers that appear in your rear view mirror as quickly as Eddie Nakato does. Trust me folks, this build is fast!
Greg, you have one of the fastest cars in the Pacific NW and arguably the best driver trainer in Eddie. Lucky bastard. It's going to be a great summer with our two GT3 friends. Only downside is they are also Eddie's protégés! The fun never stops...

Awesome build. Cannot wait to see you and your car soon in a PNW event, or Oktoberfest if you make it down to Laguna Seca

I will try to either make it up to the Ridge this Friday and/or ORP later this month. Hopefully the WA guys can make it down for ORP. This car will be awesome on that track!! Oktoberfest: unfortunately not. This car will never make sound there and we have the quiet exhaust on. They are not having a BMW CCA club race either. I do think that there is a Laguna Seca CCA club race in the fall that might be something to shoot for.
