Starts up with D or S?

I just trade in my E90 euro spec to a 11 ZCP E92 us spec. What's up with S1 take off instead in D? When I hold the button on remote it won't fold my mirrors. Can I turn off the alarm off when I park in electronic park towers? I need to head to dealer and get this coded. Btw, ZCP is much more pleasant to drive.

My US spec starts in S, beyond me why they did that.
