Ignition controlled power source

Does the cigarette lighter plug power turn off 10 minutes after the ignition is turned off? Or does someone know of another power source I can use. I am looking for an ignition controlled 12 volt source for my Bluetooth adapter.

tap into a fuse maybe? here's a chart. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=363757 I remember reading a post that someone left their charger plugged in and it stay on. It ended up melting parts of the charger. I have an 03 and mine stays on when I have anything plugged into it.

The fuse box have two empty slots you can tap into. One is switched and the other is always on. You can use Add a Fuse or similar designed for power source.

dome light. Thats how all V1 hardwired guys did it

dome light is good for a radar dectector but it won't do much for blue tooth.

I spliced into the power for the head unit when I installed my XM Radio dock.
