Z4 Vert Top Release Handle Rattle??

Hey everyone..... I just picked my 04 cpo z4 with fully automated top on thurs.... some nice weather this weekend in NJ so I was driving around and noticed a very annoying creaking/birdchirping sound coming from behind my head... it is only noticeable when the top is down... i can make the sound stop by slightly depressing the vert top release handle, the handle itself squeeks if you push it up and down...... anyone else with this issue and know how to fix it?? I have the fully auto top but that useless release handle, which is plastic and is in the middle just above the fold out storage shelf..... it is used for people who have the manual release top

mine started to squeek recently

Mine used to squeak but it doesn't, I think it will again when the temperature comes down.

Resurrecting a 1-year old thread....

Has anyone resolved this issue? This just recently started to happen on my '05.

Would the dealer take care of this under warranty?

I sprayed white lithium grease on the backside of the top release handle(one you push in) the spring part was squeeking real bad now it's better.
