Lux V4 and Camaross HID Halos side by side

Had the Camaross HID halos since 2008. Had a few problems with them throughout the years. I believe the driver side ballast finally died.

So I got the LUX V4's. Build quality like everyone says is very nice. Here are side by side shots. I think the head on shots look better in the photos than in real life. I think partly because I am shooting the photo at a pretty even height as the headlights. In full sun conditions the HID brightness are still easily seen while I'm standing up. The LUX cannot be seen that well. It's nice not to hear the bzzzz sound from the HID ballasts everytime they turn on though.

Passenger side is the HID. Driver side are the LUX.


Direct sunlight. 2 pm. Low beam off. Lux set at 6900 K.

Yah. In all fairness these weren't the bulbs that came with the camaross hid. The original ones were white, but they 'broke'.

The new ones I bought looked like that with a slight tint of green.

I didn't like it either, but whatcha gonna do. Some things are just not worth the effort. For the most part they look white, just some angles you get that green tint.

I got rid of my HIDs after running them for a week. Got scared when people said it will ruin the housing and turn the angels yellow.
