Ac low pressure port

Can someone tell me which one out of the two service ports on the driver side is the low pressure one for ac. Seems like it should be the fwd one but wanted to confirm.

The fittings are "keyed" so a DIY recharge can/kit or AC manifold gauges will only attach in the correct way. Its not like in the old days with R12 freon you could hook the gauges or charge line up backwards. With the new AC system, the hoses only attach one way - the correct way!

Got the car back from the dealership yesterday and it's the evaporator. Cost to fix $2500 to $2600 which to me is a pretty substantial amount. Will try to reach out to BMWNA as my car only had 37000 miles and 5 years old. I should have questioned the dealership when I bought the car from East Bay bmw in Pleasanton as they recharged the ac before selling it to me. Shouldn't the dealership be more honest. I guess wishful thinking on my part. But here I am stuck with either a non working ac or a $2500 fix.

I believe it is actually the rear port. However, as Dack mentioned, the ports are different sizes to prevent you from hooking up to the wrong one.

I just had a quote of $2200 + tax to replace my AC compressor. I was able to DIY it in about 3 hours for just under $500 total in parts.
