bms flash question

Will an ebay obd 2 usb cable work with the bms back end flash? The bavarian tech cable is kinda expensive for me at 179 dollars. There's an ebay one for 35 dollars.

Sadly no, you'll need the bav tech cable to flash maps. Those other cables work for INPA/Ediabas/WinKFP, which would help with pulling codes, programming injectors etc.

My .02$

Honestly, I would really advise buying the cable. Because a flash isn't something that is "permanent". For example if you have an aggressive E85 flash on your car, but can't find E85, you're essentially screwed. You might be able to limp it home but it's just not a good idea. But if you have that cable you can quickly flash to your original BIN file and go on your way. At first I wanted to just rent one, but I broke down and bought one and it has been worth it's weight in gold.

I would buy both cables. Inpa and winkfp with the $35 cable, and the ability to flash different maps as well as log with the BT Cable. You will be able to do almost anything with the combination of owning both.

+1 INPA/DCAN is cheap, and then just get the individual BT cable that vin locks for your car only, think it’s like $180 or so. Between those two cables you can do just about anything you’d need.

People used to pay 1000$to flash their cars without complaining now that it became free they are complaining about the price of the cable

On a serious note, find someone on the forum close to you that has the cable and use it to install the map.
