DCT "creeps"

In my 2010 e92 with DCT, my car will creep forward very slowly when I remove my foot from the brake. It only happens sometimes. It is as if the clutch is just so slightly engaging. And no, it's not when I'm on a hill.

Anyone else experience this? I searched the forums and didn't see it. Wondering what it is and if it is a Bad Thing.

Only time my car does this is if I have not come to a complete stop. If you don't come to a complete stop, the DCT will act like the automatic transmission it is and creep forward. Come to a full/complete stop and the car will not creep...

^ Is correct, if you come to a full stop it will not engage the clutch..

That being said you need to be REALLY careful, sometimes I let my foot of the brake, get distracted and all of a sudden im almost rolling into the car behind me

Right on the mark.

It is easy to assume that you have come to a complete stop. This happens occasionally to me.

There are a few tell tale signs you can tell, IE. G force, RPM will drop a little and you can hear a whirring DCT sound as it half clutch to inch forward.

It's on (or about) page 49 in the owners manual in the "Driving Section"
Look for "Low Speed Assist" in the DCT section.

I just learned some new details about using the Low Speed Assist function to rock the vehicle out of deep snow. Living in Southern California I won't get that practice. Those of you that live in the deep snow likely already knew about that trick. You can go from drive to reverse without touching the brake pedal. I'll have to try that out in the warm sunshine... or maybe I should not push my luck with the cost of a new DCT.
